The club behind the bills.
Casa Diablo opened in Northwest Portland in 2008 when founder Johnny “Diablo” Žūklė converted the former Pirates Tavern after the recession. It became known as the world’s only vegan strip club, with a stage policy banning fur, feathers, leather, and wool.
Its kitchen serves vegan burgers and mac and cheese, and its slogan is as blunt as its concept: “Vixens not veal, sizzle not steak, we put the meat on the pole, not on the plate.”
Journalists who covered Casa Diablo specifically noted $2 bills scattered across the stage. That unusual detail is the entire reason this edition exists.
